Position Title: Assistant Project Officer (Intern)
Position Location: Brussels
Position Duration: 6 to 9 months
Report to: Head of Project Management Office
Target Start Date: Second half of October 2019

The selected intern will acquire knowledge on how to write funding proposals and will have the opportunity to support in the implementation of ongoing projects.

Main tasks & responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

In relation to Project Development:

  • Research for grant opportunities, periodical checks of call for proposals and tenders, update of donors’ database;
  • Partnership building activities;
  • Project drafting, preparation and submission of applications for both EU and Non-EU funded projects;
  • Activities related to the relations with the European Institutions.

In relation to Project Management:

  • Contributing to project’s management, implementation and logistical support;
  • Support to administrative tasks related to the Office’s needs;
  • Participating in meetings, writing news items for our websites and reports for internal use;
  • Participation in drafting position & policy papers, interim and final reports for on-going projects

The specific tasks will be defined according to the experience of the trainee, and can be changed and further developed during the internship.

Qualifications & Experience:
The ideal candidate will fit the profile below; however, we are open to consider strong candidates with alternative profiles.

Education:

  • Relevant university degree (EU affairs, political science, economics, public policy or similar areas).

Skills and Languages:

  • Positive attitude and keen interest in the EU Programs and Projects;
  • Excellent English and French speaking and writing skills. Other languages will be an asset;
  • Ability to conduct research and analysis;
  • Ability to learn quickly and work within a team;
  • Good social skills and the motivation to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Experience in drafting, implementing and reporting EMFF, AMIF, LIFE, HORIZON2020 and EuropeAid projects will be an asset.

The working languages are English and French.

Salary:
Transport and lunch costs will be reimbursed to the intern as 300 € /month.
